I am a minimalist, so I don´t do decoration. I am not a part of any religion, so I don´t do holiday stuff.
But that doesn´t mean I can´t enjoy a few stars made of straw hanging on a evergreen tree branch. It´s was a nice surprise to see that on my usual walk in nature. Someone decorated a tiny spruce tree and is trying to light up the mood of people passing by. I like the idea and the unruly intention behind that tiny gesture. It´s against the norm and against the habit of cutting a tree to bring it inside your house. JUST BECAUSE EVERYBODY DOES IT. I don´t want to know the amount of trees that are cut down – for decorative purposes. That´s probably an absurdly high number. Can we drop the tradition of christmas trees?
