Besucher: Hi, bist du der Maler? Erzähl mir etwas über dieses Bild. Warum hast du es denn so gemalt?

Künstler: Besser nicht. Zu erklären – WARUM ICH MACHE, WAS ICH MACHE – wird nicht viel Sinn ergeben.

Besucher: Aber, wie soll ich das verstehen?

Künstler: Das kann man nicht, die Arbeit eines Künstlers ist nicht logisch. Kunst wird nicht für den denkenden Hirn-Anteil gemacht.

Besucher: Ähm … ich begreife das nicht. Warum können Sie es mir nicht einfach sagen?

Der Künstler verstummt und der Besucher dreht sich weg.

Recently at the art exhibition. A short dialog.

artist greeting a new visitor at the exhibition: Hi. Hello.

visitor: Hi, are you the painter? Tell me something about this picture. Why did you paint it this way?

artist: I´d better not. Explaining – WHY I DO, WHAT I DO – is not going to make sense.

visitor: But, how can I understand it?

artist: You can´t, an artists work is not logical. Art is not being made for the thinking part of the brain.

visitor: Uh … I don´t get it. Why can´t you just tell me?

The artist falls silent and the visitor turns away.
