Below is a short list of tools and sources, that I currently use to check out trends in the financial market and for background information about Bitcoin. If you are beginner and new to the subject you can check out this source for a start.

Charts and heatmaps for Bitcoin

For an overview about the general activity in the crypto market, I look up the Funding Rate Heatmap on coinglass – with BTC in the first line of the map.

Getting more clear on the investment cycles of Bitcoin with its peaks and bottoms, I use this chart on glassnode The Bitcoin Price Temperature (BPT)

Since ETF´s have an increasing influence on the Bitcoin price, I check Total Bitcoin Spot ETF Net Inflow if institutional traders are selling or buying.

A lot of data on crypto and exchanges including their trading volumes are on coinmarketcap plus a neat little Fear and Greed Index on the first page.

The Bitcoin price on different exchanges

Exchanges sorted by trading volume and links to the charts they are providing for spot trading with the pairing of BTC/EUR … since that is my current focus. Do I use any of these exchanges? Not, yet. So I can’t give recommendations.
Binance | Bitget | Kraken

People I follow on X for updates on BTC

@_whitneywebb | With a finetuned sense about developments around Bitcoin.

@LynAldenContact | Is pushing for innovation with her book “Broken Money”.

@hoss_crypto | For regular updates on economic news in german language.

@Diditaihuttu | thebitcoinfamily is a friendly space to learn about BTC trends.

@blocktrainer | Roman Reher – on a mission to make germany fit for bitcoin.

@ZssBecker | If you want to have a shitload of fun while learning about crypto.

@RealCryptoFace1 | It´s nice to observe a bitcoin whale in his natural habitat.

Could trading futures be interesting?

Currently, I am simply trading very long time spans, that are over a year. Which is a more chill approach. If I ever get into scalping a more volatile crypto-pair with a lot of volume like BTC/USDT a tool like the Bitget BTC/USDT Liquidation Heatmap on coinglass is useful to observe the price action. And it would be interesting to check out the 3 different Trading Sessions of Asia, EU and US.
